Dear NZ Veterans, yesterday our Veterans in NSW celebrated Waitangi Day with other NZ citizens at Holroyd Park, Merrylands.
The weather was very comfortable and the day included a Powhiri for two members of Parliament from NZ, Tamati Coffey and Kiritapu Allan.
And it was nice that the organisers allowed our NZ WWII (Bougainville/Guadalcanal/Korea) Veteran 439873 Ken Frank to sit with the dignatiaries which also included sub-Mariner David Williams.
Ken also shared a lunch with them before visiting the stalls and listening to the sounds of the festivities. Whilst visiting the stalls we bumped into Audrey from KreatioNZ (Audrey donated Taonga to our WWII Veterans) and Logan from the Australian Museum (Logan hosted our Veterans at the Museum last year seeing all the Taonga (Treasures) from around the world).
After a great few hours of camaraderie with attendees to the festival we then headed home to a much deserved rest but not before enjoying the customary Chocolate Magnum.
Thank you Sydney Waitangi Fest for the warm welcome and support.
Thank you sub-Mariner David Williams for always supporting the festival and our WWII Veterans.
Thank you NZ community for saying hello to our boy.
We are looking forward to attending the Waitangi Day festival in Blacktown next Saturday.
